Nation

Nation - Terry Pratchett What a surprise coming from Pratchett. I'm used to the absurdity of his discworld books and this was nothing like those. The sillyness of those is missing in this book, but it's still a delightful read. A lovely story that examines some heavy issues (the existance of God and/or the role He plays in our lives, what does "civilized" really mean) in a way that is not preachy. It doesn't come down solidly on one side or the other, but simply provokes thought in the reader. The main characters are charming and interesting. The story is sweet. The ending is believable.
