Ella Minnow Pea: A Novel in Letters

Ella Minnow Pea - Mark Dunn I read this in about 4 hours all in one day. It was a fast read, but it was very fun, and more literary than most 4-hour books are. The eloquence of the characters as they write their letters back and forth make this a lovely experiment in creative language. Toward the end it got a little difficult to read, but deciphering the writing was part of the fun.

I've mentioned twice that this was a fun read, and I think that is the best term for the book. It wasn't particularly meaty, the characters weren't that interesting, and as creative as the language was, it sometimes seemed bombastic more than truly interesting and poetic. I enjoyed this book, but it is not one of my favorites.
